Fallhaven School District: A Legacy of Learning and Innovation
Founding and Early Years (1892-1920)
Fallhaven School District was founded in 1892 by educational visionary Elizabeth Hartwell, a pioneering educator who believed in holistic learning. Originally established as a small preparatory school in the rolling hills of Vermont, the academy began with just 37 students and 4 teachers in a modest wooden building.
Growth and Transformation (1920-1950)
During the early 20th century, Anytown expanded its curriculum and reputation. In 1935, under headmaster Theodore Reynolds, the school introduced groundbreaking programs in science and mathematics, becoming one of the first secondary schools in New England to emphasize STEM education.

Post-War Renaissance (1950-1980)
The post-World War II era saw significant growth. A major campus expansion in 1962 added the iconic Hartwell Science Center and the Reynolds Library, named after the school's most influential early leaders. The school also became a leader in diversity and inclusion, admitting its first students of color in 1965.
Modern Era (1980-Present)
By the late 20th century, Anytown had transformed into a nationally recognized independent school. Key milestones include:
